Nicole Phelps (she/her), LCSW

Welcome! I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon. I am also an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). In my private practice, I provide therapy for individual adults who are experiencing life transitions and are looking for support in creating intentional change and connection in their lives.

My passion is listening to people’s stories. As your therapist I want to support you in finding ways to connect more deeply with yourself. I love working with individuals who want to create changes that will positively impact them, their relationships and the communities that matter most to them. I do this by offering space for you to talk, dream, create goals, and explore changes you want to make in your life. I focus on collaboration and creativity. I believe that when you have a brave and uninterrupted space to do this important work you can begin to take intentional actions towards the life you want to build.

I grew up in a bilingual home, moving to the United States at the age of five from South America. I studied theater, improvisation, and storytelling in New York City. I have had many different jobs in all sorts of industries in cities around the United States. As an adult, I went back to school to study social work knowing that I wanted to support others in creating lives that are full of purpose, meaning and connection. I earned my Master of Social Work from Portland State University and my Bachelor of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University while living in Santa Fe, NM. Ongoing education and learning is important to me and I make it a priority.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working in various social services agencies in New Mexico and in Oregon whose focus is supporting individuals and families. I have supported families with children who have chronic medical needs, supported survivors of domestic violence, and families who have suffered abuse and trauma. I also enjoy public speaking and presenting about trauma, healthy boundaries, and a wide range of mental health topics. All of my life experiences continue to inform and shape my work as a therapist.

When I am not working, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors near and far with my family, reading, spending time connecting with friends, and taking care of my rescue pets.

I look forward to learning more about you too!
